Melita Hachey: Body found in search for missing Borders woman

A body has been found in the search for a missing woman.

Melita Hachey, 30, was last seen in Livingstone Place, Galashiels on the afternoon of Friday, 21 February.

A body has been found in the search for her.

Formal identification is yet to take place but Melita’s family have been informed.

In a statement released through Police Scotland on Friday, her family said: "The last week has been a living nightmare."

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that around 5.30pm on Monday, 2 March, 2020, the body of a woman was found in the Kelso area.

“Formal identification has yet to take place however, the family of 30-year-old Melita Hachey who was reported missing from Galashiels on Saturday, 22 February, 2020, has been informed.”
