McCoist rallies support for Soldiers’ Charity at Castle

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has visited Edinburgh Castle to announce his club’s support for the army’s national charity.

The former Question of Sport captain oversaw the firing of the One o’Clock Gun yesterday as he revealed the club’s charity foundation hopes to raise £25,000 to help fund ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

The charity has worked with soldiers and veterans from every conflict since the Second World War by giving practical support to those who serve in the Army. Last year it supported more than 4000 people and around 80 specialist charities.

McCoist said: “We are delighted. We are really proud of the team at the Rangers Charity Foundation. The Soldiers’ Charity is something we have supported for a while now and it seems a natural charity for us to support. It’s a well-deserved and well-earning charity.”
