'Mass grave of children found' in Texas

POLICE in Texas were last night investigating claims that a building may be housing dozens of dismembered bodies after an anonymous tip-off.

Up to 30 bodies, possibly all them children, were said to have been hidden in the rural home in Liberty County, east of Houston.

A spokeswoman for the FBI said it had been asked to help with an ongoing investigation, but would not comment further. Aerial television footage showed a brick house surrounded by a cluster of thick trees at the end of a rural road.

Police officers had closed a road junction at the scene, about 51 miles east of Houston.

One report last night claimed that the tip-off to police had come from a psychic.
