Manifesto for East Lothian communities

EAST Lothian council, the police, the fire service and Jewel and Esk College will be amongst those signing an agreement on Monday for the future of the area.

The document - entitled Our Plan for the Future of East Lothian - sets out how the various partners will work together to achieve 14 outcomes, including ensuring a sustainable economy, reduced poverty and reduced crime.

Council leader Paul McLennan, chair of East Lothian Community Planning Partnership, said: "This updated single outcome agreement takes into account the significant changes that we face here in the county and in the wider world.

"It includes everything from the local and national economy to ecological matters.

"By analysing the current situation, we have been able to draw up a plan that identifies not only challenges, butopportunities and shared priorities for all the partners."

The new agreement sets out how partners will work together to make positive differences in the lives of people and communities and our environment through the services that we all use."
