Management course offers 40% discount

SMALL businesses are being offered cheap management training with the assistance of Midlothian Council.

Small and medium-sized enterprises are being offered a 40 per cent discount on a new leadership and management training course at Jewel & Esk College.

Councillor Peter Boyes, cabinet member for education and communities, said: "This opportunity will allow staff to make a difference to their employers' business by becoming more efficient, more focused and confident in their managerial skills.

"It is designed to deliver practical benefits that will focus on the improvement of our team leaders and managers, their roles and that of their teams. This course will further improve the operation of small and medium-sized Midlothian businesses by assisting with the development of their products and services."

Aileen Scobie, staff development adviser at the council's Skills for Midlothian Businesses scheme, added: "As staff increase their efficiency and effectiveness, this will impact positively on their business."

The course begins on 9 February.
