Mr McColm, 41, was taken to Borders General Hospital with serious head injuries following a disturbance at Beattie Court in Hawick, Roxburghshire on Good Friday. He was later transferred to Edinburgh's Western General Hospital where he died on Sunday.
Two Russian nationals have already appeared in court in connection with the incident and have been remanded in custody. Aleksandr Podgornoi and Vladmir Jakovlev, who are aged 23 and 24, and previously lived in Estonia, are expected to face a murder charge when they next appear in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.

Hide AdYesterday, Mr McColm's family released a statement which said: "We are all totally devastated by the death of Chris, who was loved by all of us. He was a quiet, caring man who had a lot to live for, and we will miss him dearly.
"We would be grateful if we could now be left alone to grieve in peace."
