A MAN is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being assaulted in his own home.

The 63-year-old, from Peasehill Fauld, in Rosyth, did not report the attack and police learned about it only when he was taken to hospital several days later.

Fife Constabulary is appealing for witnesses to the attack, which they believe took place on 18 May.

Superintendent Garry Mc-Ewan, the head of Fife Constabulary's crime management division, said: "This appears to have been a deliberate targeted assault on an individual while within his home, and I would ask anyone who has any information about this attack, no matter how small, to contact Fife Constabulary.

"Serious assaults are rare in Fife and my appeal is both to those within the local community of Rosyth, and others residing outwith, who may have knowledge of this attack to contact Fife Constabulary."
