Man suffers knife attack in own home

POLICE are investigating a serious assault that left a man with stab and slash wounds after being attacked in his Dalry home by up to four intruders carrying weapons.

The 22-year-old is recovering in hospital after suffering "serious" injuries to his back and legs during the incident, which took place at a property in Upper Grove Place at around 8pm on Wednesday.

The suspects, who are all believed to know each other, are described as white and aged 16 to 25. One is described as having blond sandy hair and wearing a white tracksuit top, while the other three were wearing dark clothing and carrying beige-coloured drawstring bags or "gym" bags. Police could not confirm whether the bags were used to conceal weapons.

A police spokesman said: "This was a particularly violent assault by four males who clearly have no reservations about using a weapon."
