A 20-year-old man has been reported in relation to the assault. Police Scotland have stressed that fatal road traffic collision is being treated as a linked but separate incident to the assault,

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision to come forward. Officers in particular would like to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Biesek outside Gray and Adams before the collision, particularly the driver of a car which stopped momentarily alongside Mr Biesek before driving off.

“In addition officers would also like to trace the driver of a Blue Ford Mondeo who stopped at the filling station and crossed to see if they could assist, but left without leaving their contact details. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.”
