Man spotted making parachute landing onto Glasgow street

POLICE are searching for a mystery man who parachuted into Glasgow before disappearing.

The parachutist landed in the city centre shortly after midnight on Thursday.

The incident was spotted by a passing motorist who then reported it to police around 12.30am.

It is believed that the individual landed on North Hanover Street, near to its junction with Dobbies Loan, and wasn’t seen again.

CCTV footage is reportedly being reviewed but it’s unknown if the individual jumped from a plane, helicopter or one of the city’s high-rise buildings.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said an investigation has been launched into the incident and has appealed to the people of Glasgow for information.

“Around 1230 hours on Thursday 18 February, police received a report of a parachute landing in North Hanover Street, Glasgow,” said the spokesperson. “Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances.”
