Man killed by train still not identified

POLICE are appealing for information in an attempt to identify a man who was struck and killed by a train at a Scottish railway station.

British Transport Police said they were not treating the death, at Irvine station, North Ayrshire, on Thursday, 15 March, as suspicious.

Police hope someone may recognise the description of the man, who was tall, of medium build and with short hair. He was wearing grey or blue trousers, a light-coloured shirt with blue stripes, a dark jacket and black shoes.

Inspector Lynda Lang, of British Transport Police, said: “To date our inquiries have not revealed any reported missing people in the local area.”
