Man injured as police probe '˜ongoing incident' in Glasgow

A man is injured following an incident involving two cars in the Springburn area of Glasgow.

The incident took place at around 10.50pm on Tuesday night on Atlas Road.

Officers remain at the scene this morning to establish the circumstances of the incident.

It is not known the extent of the man’s injuries or whether he was taken to hospital.

Motorists are being advised to follow diversions as Atlas Road in Springburn is closed off from the junction with Palermo Street.

It’s understood the police cordon is likely to remain in place until at least lunchtime.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.50pm on Tuesday 1 May 2018, police received a report of an incident involving two cars in Atlas Road, resulting in one man being injured.

“The inquiry is at an early stage and officers remain at the scene to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

“Atlas Road in Springburn is closed off from its junction with Palermo street to its junction with Springburn Road, Glasgow.”

Glasgow Kelvin College tweeted to inform students and staff that the Springburn Campus remains open however there is currently no vehicle access.
