Man injured in attack as he sits in car

A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after he was attacked as he sat in his car.

Two men got out of a white van and smashed the window of the man's car as he was sitting on Kelso Street in the Yoker area of Glasgow.

They then assaulted him, leaving him with head and facial injuries.

The 49-year-old was taken to the Western Infirmary in Glasgow, where hospital staff described his condition as serious but stable.

Strathclyde Police appealed for information about the attack, which happened at around 4pm on Friday. Detective Constable Jim Duncan said: "At this time there is no description of the suspects available, and officers are currently studying CCTV footage and carrying out enquiries in the local area to establish more information on this crime.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Kelso Street around 4pm yesterday afternoon who may have witnessed this incident take place, or seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area, to come forward."
