Man hurt in street attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Armadale just after midnight on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old, and a group of friends, were walking up South Street and had just reached Bathville Cross when a man approached and struck him in the face with a bottle, cutting his cheek. The suspect then walked off down Station Road with a woman.

The man called an ambulance and was taken to St John’s Hospital.

The suspect is described as being around 6ft tall, heavy build and was wearing a red-hooded top. The woman with him was of medium build with dark hair and was wearing red/pink pyjama bottoms.
