Man in hospital after City Bypass crash

A MAN has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on the City Bypass involving a minibus with children on board.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were all called to the A720 before Old Craighall junction at 12.30pm today to attend the accident involving a Land Rover Discovery, a Mercedes ML280 and a minibus.

One man has been taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with breathing difficulties. His condition is not thought to be serious.

There were 15 adults and two children on board the minibus, who were all uninjured and have been removed from the scene.

Lane two of the eastbound carriageway is currently blocked but lane one is moving steadily, according to a police spokesman.

Emergency services remain at the scene.

In a separate incident, a female driver suffered minor injuries when her Vauxhall Astra was involved in a collision with a lorry at 12.27pm on the A90 Queensferry Road at Barnton.

She did not require hospital treatment.

One lane of the westbound carriageway is currently blocked and police are still at the scene.
