Man held as tablets seized

A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged in connection with the seizure of thousands of Diazepam tablets worth an estimated £6,400.

Officers from Lothian and Borders Police made the seizure as part of a joint operation with the UK Border Agency, after suspicions were raised over packages that had been sent from Pakistan, bound for Edinburgh.

The packages were marked for delivery to an address in the Morningside area of the Capital, and as a result of further inquiries, drugs were seized and a man was arrested.
