Man held over four robberies in single day

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with four alleged assaults and robberies carried out over 24 hours.

The 21-year-old was set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday following his arrest.

The incidents happened in Middle Meadow Walk, Marchmont Crescent, Warrender Park Road and Bristo Square last Wednesday and Thursday.

Among the alleged victims was a 19-year-old man who was forced to withdraw money from a cash machine by a mugger after being confronted by him in the underpass at Potterrow on Thursday.
