Man held in Essex probe

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 42-year-old roofer in Essex after being pulled over by armed police in East Lothian.

Anton Prickett, 42, was discovered lying in the middle of a road in the town of St Osyth on the Essex coast after allegedly being gunned down as he loaded tools into his van.

He died in hospital after being shot twice in the stomach around 5am yesterday.

A man was then stopped by armed officers outside the East Lothian town of Wallyford as he drove north on the A1 around 12.45pm.

The road was closed briefly. A police spokeswoman said: "A man was arrested in connection with an Essex Police inquiry."
