Man held after pedestrian hit by car in city

A man has been charged after a pedestrian was hit by a car in a city centre.

The 73-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the incident which happened on Abercromby Place at its junction with Dundas Street in Edinburgh at around 4.10pm on Monday, December 5.

Police said that a 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with a road traffic collision.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The man is expected to appear in court at a later date.
