Man guilty of shooting OAP

A PENSIONER was shot accidentally by a man who was aiming his air rifle at a sign. Graham Goodwin, 64, was out walking when he felt a sharp pain in his buttock, Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard.

Realising he had been shot, he called the police and Donovan Saidi, 20, of Murrayburn Place, was detained the next day.

Saidi admitted recklessly firing the air rifle at a road sign and at Eric Kelmo's car, cracking the windscreen, both on St John's Road, on 12 September last year. Sentence was deferred.
