Man faces murder bid charge

A MAN has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing on New Year’s Day.

Garry Chalmers, 32, is accused of trying to murder a 25-year-old man in the Craigie area of Perth shortly before 6am on Sunday. Chalmers, from Abernethy, Perthshire, who was also charged with assaulting him to his severe injury, appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court and made no plea or declaration.
