Man dies after being hit by train at Bishopbriggs

An elderly man has died after he was struck by a train at a station.

The incident happened at Bishopbriggs Station, in East Dunbartonshire, yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the station at about 4:30pm and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident caused delays and disruption on services from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh via Falkirk and services to Inverness, Aberdeen, Dundee and Alloa.
