Man dies after being hit by lorry in Glasgow

A man has died after being knocked down by a tipper lorry in the Govanhill area of Glasgow, police said.

The 58-year-old was struck by the DAF truck as he crossed Hollybrook Street at around 6pm yesterday.

Strathclyde Police said he sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The lorry driver was not hurt.

Constable Peter Findlay, from the force’s divisional road policing unit at Pollok, is appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should contact 0141 532 5600.
