Man dies after 800ft Ben Nevis fall

A MAN has fallen 800ft to his death in darkness on Ben Nevis after conquering Britain’s tallest mountain.

The walker was with a group of companions when he fell in an area known as the second Aluminium Bridge on the popular tourist path route.

The alarm was raised at 10pm on Friday by other members of the group, who were halfway back down the 4,409ft high mountain. The incident occurred near a steep river gully, when the man slipped and fell.
