Man in court over suspicious death of Forfar woman

A MAN is expected to appear in court today in connection with the “suspicious” death of 40-year-old woman in Forfar.

The body of the woman, named locally as Catherine Sandeman, was discovered in a flat in the Angus town’s Glenmoy Terrace on Friday night.

The area around the flat was cordoned off over the weekend while forensic officers carried out a detailed examination of the scene.

A spokesman for the Tayside Division of Police: “Police Scotland detective officers are carrying out enquiries after the body of a 40-year-old woman was discovered at an address in Forfar’s Glenmoy Terrace on Friday The deceased was found at about 9.30pm and officers are treating her death as suspicious.

“The address has been cordoned off to allow a full forensic examination of the scene and enquiries are underway.”

He added: “A 33-year-old man has been arrested and will be appearing at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the incident. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course and no further details are available at this time.”
