Man in court over stabbing

A MAN will appear in court today over a stabbing at a block of flats in the Capital that left a woman dead.

Police were called to a disturbance in West Tollcross at around 6.30pm on Tuesday.

A 32-year-old woman had sustained fatal stab wounds and died at the scene. A second woman, who was not directly involved in the incident, suffered very minor injuries.

Lothian and Borders Police said a 28-year-old man had been charged in connection with the murder and a number of alleged assaults that took place during the incident.
