Man in court on murder charge

A 50-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in Tain Sheriff Court on a murder charge.

His appearance follows the death of Donna Forrest, 30, in the East Ross village of Balintore on Sunday. A 59-year-old man was also seriously injured in the incident.

Philip Fraser, 22, of Abbotshaven, Balintore appeared in private on a charge of murder and "hamesuckin", an ancient Scottish offence which involves an aggravated assault in a person's home.
