Man in court after threat to torch house

A SHERIFF has called for social work reports on a man who threatened to burn his partner’s mother’s house down.

Sheriff Graeme Fleming said he wanted to know more about the background of Paul Clampett before passing sentence.

In the meantime, he banned Clampett, 33, of Bathgate, West Lothian, from approaching Margaret Miller.

He also made it a special bail condition that Clampett must not go near Mrs Miller’s home in Harthill, West Lothian.

Clampett appeared from custody at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday. He pled guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing and throwing things around.

He also pled guilty to leaving a voicemail on his partner Ashley Miller’s mobile phone threatening to burn her mother’s house down.

The case was adjourned to January 26.
