Man charged over the sexual assault of teenage girl

A MAN has been charged in connection with the abduction and indecent assault of a teenage girl, close to one of Scotland's top independent schools.

The 14-year-old girl was targeted as she walked near to Dollar Academy, Clackmannanshire, earlier this year, and forced to march 200 yards at knife point past parents and other pupils to her attacker's car. The teenager was driven eight miles away before being sexually assaulted while the vehicle was parked in a farm track off the B910 near to Linn Mill.

After the attack the man ordered her out of the car on the dirt track road, near to the A077 Kinross to Gartarry Road. The teenager then managed to flag down a passing motorist who raised the alarm. The incident, which took place around 8:20am on 21 June, led to a massive police manhunt.

Central Scotland police said a 40-year-old man was expected to appear from custody at Alloa Sheriff Court tomorrow.
