Man charged over break-in at restaurant

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with a break-in at an Indian restaurant which was hit by burglars five times in less than a 
fortnight.

The 25-year-old was charged with an alleged break-in at the In Touch restaurant in 
Inverleith Gardens.

Police are continuing to investigate other break-ins and attempted break-ins which took place at the restaurant between January 24 and 
February 5.

Ruhu Choudry, the restaurant owner, boosted security in the wake of the burglaries. Police stepped up patrols in the area following the incidents.

A police spokesman said: “A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged break-in and theft from a restaurant in Inverleith Gardens.

“The male has also been charged with other alleged break-ins and attempted break-ins within the Drylaw area and was scheduled to appear in court yesterday.

“Police continue to investigate a number of similar incidents at the restaurant and anyone who can assist with these inquiries is asked to come forward.”
