Man charged over alleged George Street bank robbery

A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged bank robbery in George Street.

The 28-year-old man was set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today following the robbery at the Nat West branch on Wednesday.

A robber struck at the bank at around 3.50pm, threatening staff before making off with the money.

The bank was sealed off with police tape while forensics officers examined the scene.
