Man charged after woman raped in graveyard

A man has been arrested and charged after a woman was raped in a city graveyard.

Police launched a major investigation after the incident in Eastern Cemetery, off Easter Road, in the early hours of Saturday.

The 24-year-old man is due to to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Police Scotland said they would like to thank the public for their assistance during the investigation.
