Man arrested after gun fired at Liberton house

A man has been arrested and charged after a gun was fired at a house.

The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday, March 11 outside a property in Kenilworth Drive in Liberton.

No-one was injured and Police Scotland today said a 24-year-old would appear in court over the incident.

Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: “We are committed to tackling serious organised crime and associated offences including the possession and discharge of firearms.

“Incidents such as these are rare within Edinburgh but when they do occur we will utilise all resources at our disposal to bring those responsible to justice.

“I would urge our communities to contact us on 101 if they have any information relating to the use or whereabouts of firearms. Alternatively, they can pass on information anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
