Man admits partner attack

A MAN who showed no concern for his girlfriend when she passed out after he kicked her on the head has been ordered to carry out 240 hours of community service.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard William Drynan, 30, had been drinking with Margaret Vennard at a friend's flat but when Ms Vennard decided to leave after Drynan made upsetting comments, he assaulted her.

At an earlier hearing fiscal depute Melanie Ward said when police officers attended they found Ms Vennard unconscious and Drynan showing no concern for his partner.

Drynan, of Upper Craigour, admitted carrying out the assault on November 12 last year.
