Man accused of stabbing accountant goes on trial

THE trial of a man who allegedly stabbed a senior accountant in Edinburgh has got underway.

Leslie Cumming, an ex-chief accountant with the Law Society of Scotland, was attacked in a lane behind his Murrayfield home in 2006.

46-year-old Robert Graham denies the attack, with the prosecution alleging Mr Cumming was set upon by the man who was partially masked.

The jury were shown photographs of the injuries he sustained to the left side of his face and body.
