Man, 74, dies on slip road

AN elderly pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a car on a motorway slip road.

Police said the accident happened on the southbound carriageway of the A899, close to the Deer Park roundabout near Livingston.

The 74-year-old was hit by a blue BMW at around 5.50pm and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was uninjured.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
