Police cordoned off an area around Fintry Terrace’s junction with Whitfield Drive. A house in nearby Murrayfield Drive was also cordoned off.

Police said they had cordoned off the areas to allow a forensic search to take place.

Tayside Police added that a 63-year-old man had been detained and urged anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesman said yesterday: “Officers are in the process of speaking to witnesses and carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area in a bid to establish what may have happened.”
