Man, 34, dies after road crash on the A82 near the Erskine Bridge

Officers are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision on the A82 near to the Erskine Bridge, in which a 34 year-old male pedestrian was struck by a car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police received a report at approximately 5:05pm last night that a man had been ‘struck by a car’ on the A82 westbound at Duntocher.

Emergency services attended but the 34-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the car was uninjured.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences and enquiries are ongoing.

The road remains closed as crash scene investigators carry out enquiries at the location.

Sergeant Paul MacPherson said: “An investigation is under way to establish the circumstances of this incident and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time it occurred to contact us.

"In particular, if you have a dash cam, please check your footage as it could hold images which could assist us in our investigation.”
