Man, 30, dies after being stabbed in middle of day

A MAN has died after being stabbed in during the daytime in a Scottish town.

Christopher Devlin, 30, left, was found injured on Saturday afternoon, but died a short time later at hospital.

Police were called at 1:50pm to Whinhall Road, Airdrie in Lanarkshire, where they found Mr Devlin, who is from the Airdrie area, with stab injuries. He died at Monklands Hospital in the town.

Detective Inspector Bob Frew, from Airdrie CID at Strathclyde Police, said: "This man was found bleeding in the street in broad daylight on a Saturday afternoon, and I have no doubt that the answer to what happened to Christopher lies within the local community."

Meanwhile, police last night named a teenager stabbed to death in Greenock on Friday night as Christopher Knox, aged 17.
