Man, 26, remanded on rape charge

A MAN has been remanded in custody accused of raping a woman near a public footpath.

Barry Macmillan appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday charged with breach of the peace and rape. The charges relate to an alleged sexual assault in bushes close to the path between Cedarbank and Cloverbank in Livingston on Wednesday.

Macmillan, 26, from Livingston, made no plea or direction.
