Man, 22, charged with rape

A MAN has appeared in court charged with rape, attempted murder and abduction after a woman was allegedly attacked in her home.

The 39-year-old victim was left "seriously traumatised" after an attacker entered the house at about 5am on Saturday.

It is alleged she was threatened and then raped in her house in Livingston, West Lothian.

John Robert Alexander McKeown, 22, from Livingston, appeared at the town's sheriff court yesterday. He was charged with abduction, assault, rape, attempted murder and breach of the peace, and remanded in custody. There was no plea.
