Man, 21, killed in Ayrshire car accident

POLICE are investigating the death of a 21-year-old who was hit by a car.

The young man died at the scene after he was hit by the car on the B743 Mauchline Road at Mossblown in south Ayrshire.

The accident happened shortly before midnight last night, police said.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Sergeant Ian Lawrie, who is leading the investigation, said: "A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is currently ongoing, and we are appealing for any witnesses."

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
