Magnet teaser draws to close

A PROBLEM that has puzzled generations of scientists has finally been solved after more than 70 years.

A team of scientists, including those from Edinburgh University, has discovered new information which might enable magnetite – the most magnetic of all naturally occurring minerals – to be exploited.

Professor Paul Attfield, from Edinburgh University, said: “This insight will help in the development of future electronic and magnetic technologies.”
