Maggie Cheung set to bring Hollywood glamour to graduation

One of modern cinema's greatest film actresses, Maggie Cheung, is among the public figures receiving honorary degrees at the University of Edinburgh's summer graduation ceremonies next week.

Ms Cheung, the first Asian actress to win a prize at Cannes, and who has appeared in more than 70 films including In the Mood for Love and the blockbuster Hero, will receive a Doctor honoris causa on Friday, July 1.

Olivia Giles, the founder and chief executive of the 500 Miles charity which supports amputees and other disabled people in Malawi and Zambia, will also receive an honorary degree.
