Lunch is served for ladies who want to help Maggie's

A FEELGOOD fundraiser for "ladies who lunch" is being held in the Capital.

The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is hosting a fundraiser for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres on Friday, February 4 in its Edinburgh Suite.

Ahead of Valentine's Day, the Ladies Love Lunch is a chance for women to dress up and enjoy an afternoon with the girls that is sure to banish the winter blues.

Hosted by comedian and radio presenter Fred MacAulay, the event features Janet Ellis as a special guest speaker.

Ms Ellis said: "I have been a supporter of Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres for five years and am proud to be patron of the London centre. I'm looking forward to coming to Edinburgh in February, where Maggie's originated."

Fred MacAulay said he was "delighted to be involved with this event for a very worthwhile charity, and really looking forward to seeing Janet Ellis".

Maggie's Cancer Care Centres provide information, advice and support for those suffering from cancer, and for their loved ones.

Marion Taylor, community fundraiser, at Maggie's Edinburgh, said: "We are grateful for the continued support from staff and guests at the Sheraton Grand and One Spa, which to date has raised a staggering 16,000 for Maggie's.

"This event will kickstart our 15th birthday celebrations, and it will be fantastic to have Fred and Janet there."
