Lothian charities secure funding grants from bank

HALF a dozen Lothian charities and organisations have received a funding coup from the Bank of Scotland Foundation.

The grants range from £2300 to more then £15,000, with bodies in Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian being awarded cash.

Arts-based health charity Hearts & Minds was given a £2388 grant, with family support charity Home-Start Leith and North East Edinburgh receiving £5060.

The celebrated Edinburgh International Science Festival was presented with £10,000, while in Musselburgh, the Hollies Day Centre for the Elderly was granted £6720.

Meanwhile, Gorebridge Opportunities Ltd, in Midlothian, received £7820 and Citizens Advice Bureau West Lothian was given £15,346.

Kate Guthrie, chair of the foundation’s board of trustees, said: “We are always delighted to see the difference our donations are able to make.”
