Lothian artist scoops award

AN artist from East Lothian has won a nationwide water- colour competition.

Kate Henderson, who lives in Haddington, scooped the £250 Turcan Connell Prize at the Exhibition of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour.

The former Edinburgh College of Art student specialises in stained glass.

After collecting the prize, she said her work was inspired by churches across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
