Loretto for £750,000 conversion

MORE than £750,000 is being invested in Loretto Junior School’s Newfield House as part of a major transformation.

The revamp includes a ground floor conversion into a nursery, modernised first floor boarding facilities, and conversion of a tearoom to provide dining for the nursery.

The refurbished Newfield House will open in time for the start of the next academic year in September.

Due to the demand for nursery places at Loretto Junior School, it was decided to create a “state-of-the-art” facility on the ground floor for 48 nursery age children.

There will also be secure access to a covered play area, a wild flower meadow, sensory and wild garden areas at the rear of the building.

Headmaster Philip Meadows said: “This is a significant investment and an exciting project and will provide facilities for both our nursery children and boarding pupils.”
