A “TERRIFIED” five-week-old kitten has been found wandering along a busy road.

The SSPCA was contacted by a member of the public who spotted the cat on the B701 Wester Hailes Road on Wednesday.

Now named Titch, the grey and white male kitten is being cared for at the Scottish SPCA’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

Animal rescue officer Steph Grant said: “Titch was far too young to be outside on his own and it’s very lucky he wasn’t run over. He was extremely frightened but is currently being fostered by a member of staff and is beginning to come round.

“In January we were called to rescue four kittens abandoned in a stairwell in Harvesters Way, which is very close to where Titch was found.

“Although these incidents may not be linked, it’s possible someone in the area is allowing their cat to have unplanned litters of kittens that they don’t want to rehome responsibly

“We’ll be looking to find Titch a loving new home.”
