Light display that’s strictly for the birds

VOLUNTEERS put on a light art spectacle in aid of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

The “torch birds” event saw the group gather at Portobello beach to “paint” birds with torches against the night sky.

They used the torches as brushes and the darkness as a canvas to capture a unique slow-exposure image of this flock of graffiti-light birds.

The one-night-only experimental light show was held to promote the upcoming 5km Flight of Fancy Fun Run in aid of the RSPB around the woods at Hopetoun House, on the outskirts of Edinburgh, next month.
